DRDO successfully tests new generation nuclear

 

👉 A new generation nuclear capable ballistic missile Agni-P (Prime) was successfully test-fired by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on 20 june 2021.

👉 “Agni-P is a new generation advanced variant of Agni class of missiles.

Telangana CM announces 1,000 crore scheme for Dalit Scheme

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao  announced the launch of an exclusive scheme for the uplift of Dalits in the state with a budgetary allocation of 1,000 crore.

NEIA got financial support for overseas project exports

 

NEIA Trust promotes exports by extending risk covers to the credit given by EXIM Bank

National Export Insurance Account (NEIA) was set up by the Government of India to facilitate medium and long-term exports, which could not be covered by ECGC.

This will enable it to underwrite Rs. 33,000 crore of project exports.

The Government has announced to provide additional corpus to NEIA over the next 5 years.

 

 

Centre extends Attorney General KK Venugopal's tenure 30 June 2022

Venugopal, who will turn 90 on 6th September this year, is the oldest person to serve on this post.

15th Attorney General (AG) for India, senior lawyer KK Venugopal will continue on the constitutional post till 30 June 2022

 Centre has extended his tenure by another year.

With this extension, Venugopal will complete 5 years as AG next year.

WhatsApp appoints “Manesh Mahatme” Head of Payments in India

 

 WhatsApp Payments head has been named and he is Manesh Mahatme, a former Amazon senior executive.

India is WhatsApp's biggest market and competes with players like Paytm, Google Pay, Walmart-owned PhonePe and Amazon Pay.

WhatsApp's vision of digital and financial inclusion in India, revealed an official statement.

International Asteroid Day 2021

This year's International Asteroid Day marks the 113th anniversary of the largest recorded asteroid impact that took place near the Tunguska River in Russia’s

 

This day is observed to inspire, engage and educate the people about asteroids opportunities and risks.

 

What are Asteroids?

 

According to the NASA, asteroids are "rocky remnants left over from the early formation of our Solar System about 4.6 billion years ago".

There are currently 1,097,106 known asteroids. Asteroids are different from meteors, which are small bodies of matter that appear as a streak of light when entering the Earth's atmosphere.

 


 

Turkey and Azerbaijan began joint military drills in Baku

 

Turkey and Azerbaijan began joint military drills in Baku, deploying tanks, helicopters and drones in an effort to improve the two countries' combat interoperability.

 

The drills, named "Mustafa Kemal Ataturk - 2021"

 

involving up to 600 personnel, around 40 tanks and armoured vehicles, and seven helicopters.
